MALCOLM X’S DAUGHTER TALKS WITH FARRAKHAN

Malcolm X’s oldest daughter sat down recently with Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan – long blamed by members of her family for her father’s death.

“I did not know if I wanted to sit across from him,” Attallah Shabazz told CBS’s “60 Minutes,” which videotaped the meeting at Farrakhan’s home near Phoenix, Ariz., last month.

The TV newsmagazine will air a report on the meeting this Sunday at 7 p.m.

“It probably has some historic relevance to it,” said “60 Minutes” spokesman Kevin Tedesco.

“These two haven’t ever been together in public.”

Shabazz saw her father gunned down in Harlem’s Audubon Ballroom in 1965, when she was 6 years old.

Malcolm X, who broke with the National of Islam in 1964, was vilified by Farrakhan and others in the organization prior to his death.
