THE STARR REPORT

The Eagle has landed

Ex-Eagle frontman Don Henley is joining Joan Lunden on A&E’s talent roster.

Henley will be featured in a special “Live By Request” airing from Dallas on May 25 at 9 p.m.

It’s tentatively titled “Don Henley Live: Inside Job – A Special Edition of ‘Live By Request.'”

No word yet on whether “LBR” host Mark McEwen will emcee the shindig.

Lunden, whose name has been thrown into the mix to replace Kathie Lee Gifford, will produce and host new episodes of “Behind Closed Doors with Joan Lunden” for A&E. She will also host/produce future programs and documentaries.

Hook, line ‘N Sync(er)

Red-hot teen sensations ‘N Sync meet ex-teen sensations Donny Osmond and Marie Osmond for the first time on tomorrow’s “Donny & Marie” (noon on Ch. 5).

Since tomorrow is “Take Our Daughters to Work Day,” Marie brought along daughter Rachel, 10 – who squealed with delight over meeting her ‘N Sync heroes.

Due to the nationwide ‘N Sync hysteria, the group asked that the set be closed during the show – with only 200 screaming, crying fans allowed inside.

Band member Justin Timberlake told Donny that he used to croon Donny’s teen hit, “Puppy Love,” when he was practicing.

No puppy love

Tonight’s “Dateline” (8 p.m. on Ch. 4) tackles the perpetually disturbing story of puppy mills.

Chris Hansen investigates from whence the puppies you’ll likely find in your neighborhood pet store originate – and discovers some horrific conditions at several puppy mills.

Using hidden cameras to look at actual USDA licensed facilities in Kansas and Missouri where several store owners get their pups, “Dateline” discovers anguished dogs with infected eyes and skin sores.
