The Piano Man says the Master of His Domain got a Hamptons bargain — paying a lot less than $40 million for his stunning oceanfront estate.
“We’re not talking $40 million … we’re not talking [as low as] $20 million,” says Billy Joel of his sale to Jerry Seinfeld.
Several reports last week said the sitcom king had forked over an astounding $40 million to the bearded pop god for the posh East Hampton digs.
Definitely not true, Joel told USA Today.
“Jerry’s a good guy, but he’s not stupid,” Joel says.
Joel acted as his own real-estate agent for the sale in order to save the broker’s commission that would have set him back more than $1 million.
Not that Piano Man needs the dough.
When asked whether he’s watched “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” — which featured a question about him last week, Joel doesn’t blink.
“No — because I already am,” he boasts.
