STORM KOS RACING CARDS

Racing at Aqueduct was canceled early yesterday in anticipation of the major storm that hit the area through the late morning and afternoon. It was the fourth time this year the track has closed because of the weather.

The Big A will re-open today, featuring the $75,000 Dearly Precious Stakes and simulcasts of the Grade 1 Fountain of Youth from Gulfstream Park and the Grade 2 Barbara Fritchie Handicap from Laurel.

Tomorrow’s feature is the $75,000 Hollie Hughes Handicap for New York-breds. Also, the 2000 Kentucky Derby Future Wager will be available through the weekend, with betting closing 4:30 p.m. tomorrow.

On Monday, President’s Day, Aqueduct will offer the $75,000 Rare Treat Handicap along with a simulcast of the General George Handicap from Laurel.

The Big A will be dark Tuesday and Wednesday.

Also closing yesterday were Laurel, Philadelphia Park, Penn National, Charles Town, Yonkers and Freehold.
