COPS BUST SUSPECT IN SLAYING OF MOVIEGOER

A Brooklyn teen has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of an innocent 21-year-old bystander inside a crowded movie theater, police said yesterday.

Devon Purvis, 17, was arrested early yesterday morning at his Flatbush home. Charges late yesterday were still pending.

He allegedly opened fire on two other moviegoers who were talking during a showing of “The Life” inside the Kenmore Theater April 16.

The loud patrons, both 19, were hit by gunfire, but survived. A stray bullet, however, struck and killed Jumaane Cox, who was sitting nearby but was not part of the argument.

At the time of his death, Cox was hoping to work in the transit system or as a truck driver, his family said.
