BLEATING HEARTS RIP PRINCE CHARLES

Prince Charles has sparked a furor for backing a charity event at which a nanny goat will be shot.

The British Deer Society, in which Charles is the top patron, has its 5,000 members bidding to hunt the goat on an enclosed 260,000-acre estate.

Animal-rights activists say goats are so passive, no sport is involved. But Hugh Rose, the society’s secretary, fumed, ”What else can you do with feral goats but shoot them? It’s called culling.”

A royal spokesman said, ”The prince can’t be expected to know what is going on in every branch of the society.”
