University of Utah and Recent AARO Director Publish Study of NUFORC Data

  • Post comments:5 Comments

In a study published today on nature.com, researchers at the University of Utah collaborated with Dr. Sean Kirkpatrick, the recent director of the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), to analyze 98,000 reports from the National UFO Reporting Center Data Bank.  Their article,  “An Environmental Analysis of Public UAP Sightings and Sky View Potential,” offers an interesting perspective on UAP sightings.

Key Findings from the study include:

  1. Geographical Factors: The study leverages Bayesian regression to explore how local environmental factors like light pollution, cloud cover, and nearby aircraft or military installations impact UAP sightings.
  2. UAP Hotspots: The

Spatial Hotspots in NUFORC Reports – An Analysis

  • Post comments:8 Comments

Spatial autocorrelation measures spatial and attribute similarity in one metric. If something is spatially autocorrelated, it means that objects of similar attributes tend to cluster together in space. It looks at the spatial distribution of an attribute in a dataset and asks the question, “how likely is it that this attribute is randomly distributed over space?” If the answer is “not very likely”, then that attribute can be said to be spatially autocorrelated.

This is particularly interesting when looking at UFO reports because it can show us patterns in the characteristics of the reports irrespective of external variables such as …

A Coast to Coast Interview with Mitch Randall on Skywatch

  • Post comments:0 Comments

An interview on Skywatch recently broadcast on Coast To Coast AM is available to check out here. In it Cheryll Jones interviews Ascendant AI’s CEO, Mitch Randall, about the SkyWatch Passive Radar UFO Detector. Developed through the Galileo Project, SkyWatch tracks sky movements to detect UFOs, using transmitted signals as an alternative to radar technology. Randall emphasizes its credibility, distinguishing between man-made objects and UFOs. Unlike cameras affected by weather and light, radar gives clearer images. SkyWatch ensures accuracy by calibrating with detected human aircraft.

403 New Reports Posted, Congressional Hearings Spur Reporting

  • Post comments:13 Comments

If you haven’t watched the July 26th Congressional Hearing on UFO’s, which featured dramatic testimony from whistleblower David Grusch and 2 Navy pilots, it is well worth checking out. You can view it here. The hearing and associated news coverage led to a big uptick in reports, with our volume doubling as more witnesses became motivated to share their experiences from the past. As usual, we received a mix of reports of dramatic sightings of structured craft, to mysterious orange orbs, to erratically moving lights, to misidentification of SpaceX launches, etc.

We’ve again picked some of the most interesting reports …

Metallic Orb UAPs

  • Post comments:12 Comments

Sean Kirkpatrick, director of the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office, or AARO, recently made the following striking statement about unidentified flying metallic orbs in a public presentation with NASA: “We see these all over the world, and we see these making very interesting apparent maneuvers.” A clip of the portion of the presentation containing this statement, which also shows video footage of such an object shot from an MQ-9 reaper drone in Iraq can be viewed here.

NUFORC can certainly corroborate his statement. Here is a list of 21 cases recently reported to the Center of anomalous …

SkyWatch Passive Radar Network for Citizen Disclosure

  • Post comments:9 Comments

In 2004, Peter Davenport proposed a method to to build a UFO detection system utilizing passive radar, and presented his ideas in the MUFON UFO Journal. Now, almost 20 years later, Mitch Randall, working with the Galileo Project at Harvard, has built a working prototype and proven the concept.

The next step is to secure funding to produce a commercially available unit that anyone can buy and install. When at least 3 of these systems are deployed in any given area, what Mitch calls Objects Outside the Paradigm of Science (or OOPS), can be detected. These are craft that can …
