Dr. Rowe performs the surgery via the endonasal (closed) approach, leaving no visible scar of the external (open) approach, leaving a small incision in the skin between the nostrils. The technique used is dependant on the patient’s anatomy and surgical desires. Dr. Rowe specializes in revision and difficult rhinoplasties, taking on difficult cases that he uses his extensive knowledge of nasal cosmetics. Dr. Rowe also performs surgery on the septum (area between the nostrils) if he feels that the patient will benefit from this procedure. This technique may improve a patients breathing if the septum is deviated.
Rhinoplasty surgery is usually an outpatient procedure performed under either local or general anesthesia and lasts one to two hours. Patients are usually able to return to their normal lifestyle in 2-3 days and will begin to see the results of surgery almost immediately.
