The Opportunity

The Vice-President of Global EHS&S reports into the Senior Vice-President, Global Transformation Office, supports and is accountable for Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability (EHS&S) strategy, programs execution and compliance globally for TEVA.

This position will support the implementation and installation of Teva's EHS management system to achieve Corporate EHS excellence goals to ensure compliance in all Teva locations. In their area of responsibility the successful incumbent will provide direction to establish EHS&S excellence culture, using Behaviour Based Safety Programs and Lean Six Sigma experience to deploy OPEX systems in business areas. This role will also mentor and collaborate with TGO and Global function leaders, as well as with Global and Local EHS&S team, staff and plant leadership teams on the integration of standard practices into daily operations.

This Position can be based in the EU or the US (Parsippany)

Key Responsibilities

  • The Vice-President of Global EHS&S will develop and ensure that TEVA’s EHS&S standards, guidelines, processes, and best practices are fully and effectively implemented in every segment, sites, and that all EHS&S staff has the capabilities, training and behaviours to effectively execute all EHS&S tasks as needed. As member of Global Transformation Office, she/he will ensure an effective collaboration between all other Global Functions and TGO Segments and in particular:
  • As a key member of Teva Corporate EHS&S committee, she/he will be piloting with the Committee Chairman (Teva Chief Operating Officer) the quarterly review of EHS&S performance and strategic discussions to support Teva EHS&S Excellence Road Map.
  • In charge of leading the strategy for company-wide leadership and management of the EHS&S policy, standards, procedures, and operational guidance that will enable a culture of workforce behaviours directed towards safety, health, incident and accident prevention, regulatory compliance, environmental sustainability management and performance outcomes that engage the connection of the workforce to the Company and its culture.
  • Provide expertise and leadership that will engage the Operational leaders in driving the culture of safety and compliance throughout the organization. A culture that keeps our employees safe, protects the loss exposure of the company, and is focused on compliance with applicable government regulations and internal standards and values.
  • As part of our digital transformation, provide functional leadership for ongoing development of mobile applications, Integration of EHS&S Information management systems and develop strategies for leveraging emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence.
  • Directs all Regional EHS&S and EHS&S SME’s Leads and influences site, region and global business partners to drive prioritization of regulatory compliance, continuous performance improvement, and integration of EHS&S performance objectives into standard work processes.
  • Models strong compliance mind set, develops strategies to achieve EHS&S objectives in alignment with company business goals and values.
  • Develops innovative programs to motivate the workforce to participate and engage in EHS&S.
  • Ensures EHS&S strategies/programs are implemented at a global level, assess and mitigate risks by conducting EHS&S audits and assessments (internal and external), ensuring remediation plans.
  • Develop and implement strategy for streamlining of ISO certifications across the company.

Experience & Qualifications

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years with at least 5 years in EHS&S leadership role in multi-national organization in pharma industry with high EHS standards or similar or higher hazards.
  • More than 10 years of Regional or multi-sites experience in leading EHS&S

Education And Knowledge Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge and practical experience (at least 5 years) in the all areas of API and Bio-Pharmaceutical operations.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Health sciences, Safety engineering, Environmental engineering, or related fields.
  • Must have sound knowledge of global environmental, health and safety regulatory and statutory requirements including ISO certifications.
