Position Summary

  • The VP & GM Tax and Accounting (TAA) Europe Region West is responsible for the overall management and leadership of the defined countries within the Region (i.e. Belgium, Netherlands and UK), ensuring that strategies and plans are developed and implemented to ensure the long term profitable growth of the Region in line with its and the Wolters Kluwer TAA overall strategy.
  • Lead, plan, organise and control the business resources of the countries in scope to strengthen their Leadership on the local Market and to achieve or exceed agreed annual targets.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership: develop, organise, inspire and motivate a competent Regional management team so that they are best able to grow the businesses in the future and fully understand the Region requirements, ensuring alignment to the Wolters Kluwer TAA overall strategy.
  • Contribute as a key member of TAAE leadership helping to set overall vision and strategy for the TAAE; be instrumental in shaping the future strategy driven by the strengths of our products and solutions, and of our digital customer experience and operations.


Accountabilities

  • Develop a go-to-market strategy for growth including, but not limited to, optimizing current product offerings, leveraging new product opportunities to enhance existing service offerings, evaluating options for new solutions sets for customers and strategically operationalizing those, strengthening underperforming customer segments, identifying and pursuing new customer segments, developing and executing on appropriate marketing and communications to powerfully articulate the value proposition to the market, and ensuring the sales and service teams are fully prepared to properly represent the brand while strengthening relationships with customers so that Wolters Kluwer is reliably perceived as the provider of choice.
  • Manage the Region’s P&L to meet all top-line and bottom-line financial commitments with an eye to strengthening the business for the long term. Relentlessly pursue operational efficiency to strategically invest in growth opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with customers to unlock greater commercial opportunities and deepen relationships.
  • Develop and lead the execution of a robust technology roadmap in a matrixed environment. This specifically means to develop the product strategy and GTM plans and work with the Technology organisation in DXG to manage the delivery.
  • With the Regional management team, translate the Region’s business strategy into a compelling and inspiring “call to action” for employees. Focus on securing and developing the right talent to meet current commitments with an eye to future growth; maintain a bench of highly capable, diverse, and engaged talent with the capability to deliver on growth aspirations.
  • Increase collaboration and drive synergies across the Region.
  • Oversee product management, sales, marketing, and professional services for the respective Region, maintaining a keen focus on driving financial results and operational excellence.
  • Develop and maintain a deep knowledge of the core business, scale and scope of total global market opportunity, customer profile, market ownership, competitive landscape, and market trends to effectively evaluate prospects for share of wallet growth, increased market share, and expansion into logical adjacencies. Utilize customer insights analyses in the planning for optimizing market positions.
  • Build a culture of trust, respect, and performance; empower employees to share points of view and achieve potential. Build an inclusive culture, dismantling silos.
  • Develop and lead a strong product management function to ensure a re-prioritization of product roadmap aligned to market and customer needs which is in line with Region and country rationalization and new technology deliverables.
  • Be an expert consumer of shared services, effectively partnering with matrixed organizations by having productive relationships with executive leaders of these functions and providing leadership, insight, and feedback to ensure that these groups continue to be valuable partners based on a clear understanding of how to best support the business.

ROLE PROFILE

  • Master Degree (eg Economics ) with min 10 years of experience in strategic and commercial management, business development, marketing and branding strategies;
  • Strong experience in working in matrix organizations
  • Articulate and able to communicate, facilitating ideas and solutions with teams across the business, providing presentations, clear and concise written reports, explaining difficult technical concepts to all audiences so that they understand, embrace and follow through;
  • Comfortable engaging with colleagues, third parties & customers at all levels of seniority
  • The ability to work effectively across multiple functions and organisations, facilitating, influencing, and working collaboratively, securing agreement and ensuring delivery of agreed outcomes.
  • Understands what makes a practice tick and what a practice needs to do to remain relevant in the future
  • Strategic thinker – able to develop a new/innovative/creative approach/framework to complex problems, situations, or opportunities.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities – able to break complex issues into constituent parts and identify and evaluate options

  • Ability to quickly pick up and learn about the market trends and drivers for change and make suggestions to gain a competitive advantage.


The role can be held remote/hybrid from the Netherlands, Belgium or the United Kingdom and will require regular travel across the region.
