The Head of Learning and Development will continue to build a world-class, agile, learning & development function, by enhancing a core curriculum of commercial (sales), management & leadership, sustainability, DE&I, and member (we call our employees members) learning programs. Our aim is to enable DLL members at all levels do their jobs more effectively while they prepare for their next roles within the organization and beyond. The Head of Learning & Development will also identify key development challenges within the business and partner with the business and HR to deliver upon the holistic strategy and vision for the function and lead the global L&D team members for the ever-evolving roles and responsibilities they have.

Reporting to the Global Head of Talent, our Head of Learning & Development will lead L&D design, development, delivery, and evaluation efforts across DLL. You will leverage evidence-based techniques, models, tools, and resources that foster transfer of learning from classroom to workflow, allowing our members to unleash their potential. Leading a strong global team (of L&D professionals, geographically spread) that builds and delivers core programming, leveraging both synchronous and asynchronous platforms, you will be instrumental in supporting the achievement of our strategic goals. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a highly collaborative global HR team with an inspiring People Strategy in place as a key member of the Global Talent leadership team and an integral part of the extended HR Management Team. The ability to build strong and credible partnerships within HR and the business is critical to success as DLL prides itself on being a networked organisation.

Day To Day

  • Deliver on the Learning Strategy for DLL, that aligns with our Talent and People Strategy and helps our business and members grow.
  • Lead, coach, develop, and inspire a Global L&D team, managing the day-to-day operations as well as the continuous improvement of the team members.
  • Ensure all learning initiatives integrate with each other, support each other, and build upon each other.
  • Partner with senior business stakeholders to understand their challenges and guide them towards relevant and impactful development solutions
  • Lead a global group of domain experts who are involved in managing and rolling out initiatives in their areas
  • Drive the global adoption of consistent and evidence-based learning practices while still contextualizing them regionally as well as within functions and business units.
  • Lead a rigorous instructional design process that increases the likelihood for learning transfer to occur.
  • Incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion best practices into designs and delivery.
  • Partner with senior business stakeholder to understand their challenges and guide them towards relevant and impactful development solutions
  • Lead a global group of L&D domain experts who are involved in managing and rolling out initiatives in their areas
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Talent Center of Excellence, other HR functions and Global HR leadership to best integrate learning practices into global strategies and initiatives.
  • Oversight of the Leadership Development Academy and the Commercial Academy
  • Manage and execute upon the on-going education of the Executive Board
  • Oversee / manage relationships with third-party vendors.

Essentials

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in instruction, education, psychology, business, human resources, or related major
  • Experience in a fast-paced, globally matrixed organization
  • Multiple years’ global management experience

Skills And Capabilities

  • Experience in strategic planning, visionary and forward thinking and strategy execution
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and delivery of learning initiatives
  • Proven ability to develop high performing teams
  • Demonstrated ability as a true L&D Partner to all levels of the business
  • Strong communications skills (stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing)
  • Familiarity with L&D technology landscape and system implementation
  • Strong project management skills, able to manage competing priorities
  • Business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
  • Experience in managing vendor relationships

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in instruction, education, psychology, business, human resources, or related major
  • Experience working in financial services industry
  • Consulting expertise
  • Experience in L&D-related system implementation
