Business Development Manager - Infrastructure and Energy

As a Business Development Manager you will take the leadership in developing global short- and long-term plans especially in the sub-sectors of Oil & Gas, infrastructure construction and corrosion protection in heavy environments. You will be accountable for sales and gross margin for the respective business and take responsibility in coordinating international customer projects. In this role you will be also supporting the consistent, high level & professional service being delivered to all of our customers within various regions.

As a part of a global commercial team, you will be reporting to Commercial Director and working closely with commercial teams in all regions.



Daily tasks and responsibilities:

  • Developing new business together with the global team, in line with the business roadmap
  • Supporting Regions in new business openings (technically and commercially), ensuring effective and efficient cross selling within the global team
  • Evaluating the target industry’s market potential in different geographical markets, looking for high value opportunities globally and taking active initiative for winning those
  • Being accountable for sales and gross margin for the respective business together with Group Commercial Director and Regional Commercial Directors
  • Taking responsibility in coordinating international customer projects and/or Global Key Accounts
  • Ensuring effective and efficient collaboration within the global team and contributing to competence building
  • Leading in a matrix and motivating a global dynamic group of experts (e.g. technical service, marketing, product managers, R&D) in order to accelerate exponential growth in the market
  • Technical support and participating in technical development and innovation work, in close collaboration with R&D
  • Acting as a first point of global contact for questions regarding the respective sectors, offering a consistent and professional service being delivered to all of our customers globally
  • Planning, organizing and delivering trainings for colleagues in the Regions (technicians and commercial teams) and ensuring they are capable to support sales development and provide top-quality customer experience
  • Communication on all innovations, references, business openings and requests within the global team and sharing best practices
  • Representing Teknos in global industry events (seminars, exhibitions, speaker forums etc.)


Key skills and qualifications:

  • Several years of experience within independent roles related to business development, combined with deep understanding of the technical and commercial aspects of business and sustainable solutions for Infrastructure construction, oil and gas and/or corrosion protection or another protective field
  • Commercial experience within chemical products, preferably paints and coatings, is essential
  • Strong technical knowhow and ability to assist in trial and technical training
  • Strong coordination skills and ability to gather people around one goal
  • IT general knowledge: CRM, MS Office, ERP systems
  • With this international position readiness to travel is a must
  • You communicate fluently in English, other languages are welcome
  • You should be located in one of Teknos European countries (The Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Finland or UK&I)
