    In my spare time I'm active in the blockchain/cryptocurrency community. I have architectured and created a Cloud Native Application on the AWS cloud that interacts with a blockchain. Workloads are coded in Python and Node.js and are deployed in serverless and container architectures. Storage is done with objects and a no-sql database.     In my spare time I'm active in the blockchain/cryptocurrency community. I have architectured and created a Cloud Native Application on the AWS cloud that interacts with a blockchain. Workloads are coded in Python and Node.js and are deployed in serverless and container architectures. Storage is done with objects and a no-sql database. The service is called WLDaaS (Waves LPOS distribution as a Service) and the frontend is offered with the caching webservice Cloudfront. A central API gateway directs all frontend requests to the backend microservices.

    The application is offered as a service. It is used in the community by blockchain node owners. Consumers of the app can feed some blockchain parameters after which the application collects blockdata, crunches and modifies data and transact payments to blockchain clients.

    As I'm always inspired by the combination of networking and controlling elements, I started a personal project to automate the control of my floorheating pump. From day-1 my floorheating pump has always been running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The installation was not suitable to vary speed or shutdown when there is no heat need. There was room for efficiency here!

    As I'm always inspired by the combination of networking and controlling elements, I started a personal project to automate the control of my floorheating pump. There was room for efficiency here!

    Problem to solve: shutdown the pump when there's no need for heating.
    Input Trigger: measure a voltage signal when the warmwater valve opens
    Output: send an RFI signal to open the powerplug, on which the floorpump is powered

    This way the floor heating pump only runs when there's a demand for heating in the living room.

    Design, test and build a private datacenter environment for a large ISP. Goal was to have a revised and improved environment which would run multiple Cloud environments to test and build a variety of web and video applications.
    The environment makes use of the following vendors;
    - Cisco ACI
    - Checkpoint
    - F5 networks
    - Juniper networks

    The core technologies used in this environment;
    - Cisco SDN based cloud environment
    - F5 LTM Loadbalancing and AFM firewalling

    Drastically simplifying network automation by introducing 802.1BR network virtualization and extending automation into their cloud fabric oss environment.

    I was also the solution architect in the presales phase.

  • Architect and design SDN Cloud Solution with Ansible and EVPN

    Architect a multidatacenter fabric solution based on spine/leaf architecture and datacenter interconnect.
    Design an Ansible playbook to automate configuration management of the evpn/vxlan overlay services.

    I was also the solution architect in the presales phase.

  • Design an infrastructure upgrade to SDN based overlay model

    For a large University in the Netherlands, Architect and revise the complete multi datacenter network, core network and dependance locations to have an SDN based layer2 network based on EVPN, BGP and VXLAN
    technology.

    Part of the project was to setup a Proof-of-concept and I was the solution architect in the presales phase.

  • Proof of concept B-t-B Service Automation

    For one of the largest dutch telecommunications provider, build a Juniper CSO (contrail service orchestration) platform and deliver a proof of concept to show and test multivendor orchestration.
    Part of the tests;
    - show deployment of virtual network functions
    - show service chaining capabilities with checkpoint, cisco, juniper and linux workloads
    - show automated configuration of instantiated workloads after deployment

    Present to the company board members.
