The Netflix Prize Collaborative Filtering Algorithm

In 2017, together with two other Computer Science friends, we recreated BellKor's Pragmatic Chaos team's Collaborative Filtering algorithm for The Netflix Prize Recommender System competition to predict user ratings for films, based on previous ratings without any other information about the users or films, for a Kaggle competition. https://www.kaggle.com/datasets/netflix-inc/netflix-prize-data

Formula 1 Racing Game: In 2016, together with five other Computer Science classmate friends, we built an F1 Racing Game for PC. The main focus was on creating an algorithm that could predict the final match and season result based on realistic conditions and inputs, such as engine quality, tire choice, weather conditions, difficulty of the circuit, etc.

Project weergevenThe vision of the project was to develop the Pepper Robots from SoftBank to serve at Information Desks and Concierges of Hotels, Universities, Events, and similar venues as a robot that helps you get information about the location, event or make reservations for rooms or halls.
The ultimate goal of the project is to program the robot to also be able to help people with disabilities such as blindness, muteness or deafness.
This was a University-based Team Project, we were a group of 5…The vision of the project was to develop the Pepper Robots from SoftBank to serve at Information Desks and Concierges of Hotels, Universities, Events, and similar venues as a robot that helps you get information about the location, event or make reservations for rooms or halls.
The ultimate goal of the project is to program the robot to also be able to help people with disabilities such as blindness, muteness or deafness.
This was a University-based Team Project, we were a group of 5 students working together 3 to 4 days a week and an overall of above 25 hours a week for around 3 months. We programmed mostly in Python and PHP and used GitLab hosted on our University servers as our Version Control, CI/CD, SCRUM, task assignments and more.
Overall, it was a successful project. We managed to implement most of we had planned and learn a lot from working in a group and having Product Managers, supervisor, customers/Product Owers, SCRUM master, etc.
