💡 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 📰 We are pleased to announce that we are working with Arcadis on the implementation of 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥-𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 (MBSE) to ensure the total Thorizon One system design, including 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲, 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬, is tightly managed over all lifecycles, from design to realization, operation, maintenance and even decommissioning. 🧩 Since our kick-off in April, we have implemented Systematic Assurance, a way of working developed by Arcadis with their best practice Relatics-based tooling to support our team and stakeholders. It's incredible to see government funds, VCs, and impact investors increasingly recognizing nuclear energy's positive impact on the energy transition. 𝐍𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐢𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐝 ... Nuclear waste (𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘧𝘶𝘦𝘭) still contains a significant amount of carbon-free energy. 💡 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 & 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 EDF ’𝐬 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐠𝐚𝐬-𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 🇬🇧 👉 Last week, part of the THORIZON team had the pleasure of visiting EDF's impressive Heysham nuclear power plant. Our visit included a tour of the Heysham-2 Advanced Gas-Cooled Reactor (AGR) and an 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 on AGR experience and design features, in relation to Thorizon’s molten salt reactor design. 📚 Despite the differences between AGR and THORIZON designs, we discovered a surprising number of 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐟𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐲 (𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞) 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐮𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠. The operational experience shared by the EDF team has been, and will continue to be, crucial in advancing our design.
