By incorporating #heuristics such as consistency, completeness, clarity and testability when modeling in TestCompass, you can effectively identify potential issues and risks in an early stage. These heuristics can also guide you in asking clarifying questions which you can easily include in the TestCompass model. With this, you can study and explore requirements and the SUT more thoroughly and provide valuable feedback in an early stage. Collaborative modeling, Exploratory & MBT tool. Support early Model Based Testing & BDD requirements discovery practices
Over ons
TestCompass is an early based and easy to use collaborative and Model Based Testing tool in the Cloud (SaaS). TestCompass supports the approach 'early Model Based Testing' (eMBT) which stimulates the communication and collaboration between business & IT. TestCompass supports also Behavior Driven Development (BDD). Within TestCompass you can easily draw a test model (flowchart) which is the graphical representation of the requirements and readable for all team members. When there is a shared understanding about the requirements you can automatically generate the logical and physical test cases and Gherkin .feature files based on different test coverage forms, from weak to strong. And when requirements change during the process, do not worry! Just update the test model and the Impact analysis is executed automatically. With TestCompass you test earlier, faster and smarter. Speed up your shift left testing with TestCompass! The eMBT and collaborative modelling tool in the cloud.

We developed TestCompass based on our personal needs and like many others, we are happy to use it in our daily work now. TestCompass supports the 'early Model Based Testing' (eMBT) approach. eMBT is aimed at testing the requirements (implicit and explicit) at the earliest possible stage. This is done by modeling a highly readable test model. In this way you are intuitively forced to look at the requirements and the SUT with a test mindset and you will automatically encounter open ends, ambiguities, contradictions, but also edge cases and all kinds of test ideas. All questions, ambiguities, contradictions, open ends, etc. can be incorparated in the test model itself. And once the test model has been reviewed within the team and there is a shared understanding, you can automatically generate the test cases from that test model based on a selected test coverage, from weak to strong. And do the requirements change? No problem because TestCompass automatically shows you the impact of this change, which makes it easy to anticipate. If you want to know more about eMBT or want to see more of TestCompass, register now for the free trial version or request the free online demo. #testing #shiftleft #testidea #requirements #TestCompass #testmodel #modeling #collaboration #earlyfeedback #eMBT #MBT #easytouse

I am regularly asked how TestCompass differs from other MBT tools. Well, to start with, TestCompass is not a MBT tool, but an 'early Model Based Testing' (eMBT) tool which supports the eMBT approach and mindset. And this is essentially different from the wel known MBT approach. Unlike MBT, the core of eMBT is not the automatically generation of test cases, but rather the early exploration, studying and analysis of the requirements and SUT. With the goal of getting a shared understanding asap, early exploration and detection of bugs, intuitively obtaining test ideas and edge cases, etc. And all this based on a graphical model, readable for all stakeholders (business and technical), thanks to it's high level of abstraction. Furthermore TestCompass is very user-friendly, easy to use and now widley used as collaborative modeling tool in the early phases of the SDLC. Do you want to know more about TestCompass or eMBT, just send me a DM and let's connect. #eMBT #MBT #testcase #testidea #edge #modeling #earlyfeedback #easytouse

We are not product developers or a tool supplier. We are testers with extensive and practical experience. From that experience we introduced the concept of 'early Model Testing' (eMBT). In addition, we have developed TestCompass, a collaborative modeling tool that supports 'eMBT' in an very easy to use way and now is widely used. And yes, we use it ourselves too. The primary goal of 'eMBT' is to explore the requirements and study the SUT in an early stage. And to stimulate the communication and collaboration between business and IT to ensure that any ambiguities, contradictions, incompleteness, etc. in the requirements can be discovered at a very early stage and all stakeholders get a deep shared understanding about the requirements even before any line of code had been written. Curious about the content of the 4 phases of 'eMBT' (explore, review, cover, check)? Or the other features within TestCompass, like the support of the BDD phases #Discovery and #Formulation? As an early Model Based Testing tool, TestCompass helps you to innovate testing by helping you learn about, understand and analyze the product by early modeling. A mindset from the Rapid Software Testing (#RST) methodology that we completly share. By modeling a very readable and graphical model in TestCompass you intuitively encounter all kinds of questions, assumptions, ambiguities, contradictions, open ends, etc. in the requirements. This also helps you to quickly understand the essence of the product, come up with test ideas and edge cases, intuitively explore and study the SUT right from the very start. Additionally, the graphical model in TestCompass simplifies communication and collaboration and fosters better understanding among stakeholders, leading to more accurate, structured and comprehensive risk based testing strategies. When modeling test problems, the model can grow really fast. And so do the number of tests when automatically generated from that large model. TestCompass offers a so called "reduction strategy" by the possibillity to select different test coverage forms, from weak to strong. In the next video, Wayne Roseberry from Softwaretesting, explains how you can use this reduction strategy by using a practical example in TestCompass 👇 https://lnkd.in/eDfakFzK #testing #testcoverage #reduction #modeling #TestCompass #tests

When testing a #WooCommerce webshop using TestCompass a critical bug was discovered; various purchase amounts were incorrectly not charged for shipping costs but free shipping. This bug occurred when using a comma in the minimum spend amount in the backend. When this minimum spend amount was adjusted to a whole number, for example 55, everything worked OK and only purchases of 55 euros or more were eligible for free shipping. Thanks to TestCompass, this bug was quickly and efficiently detected by a TestCompass user. Due to the way of modeling in TestCompass you are automatically forced to think critically about what and how to test, about various test variations and you will intuitively encounter test ideas that go far beyond the usual tests. With TestCompass complex functionalities can be accurately modeled, explored and tested, discovering hidden bugs before they cause problems. Curious how TestCompass can improve your testing process? Discover the benefits of early Model Based Testing (eMBT) today! #testing #exploring #earlymodelbasedtesting #eMBT #MBT

Testing can be more formal (scripted) or more informal (exploratory). And only the execution of scripted tests which are algorithmic in nature, can be automated. Did you know that among others, TestCompass can help you to automatically generate these scripted algorithmic tests in a very easy to use and collaborative way? As James Bach nicely quoted: "TestCompass is a tool that helps develop and explore testing ideas PRIOR to formalization the test procedures. It does this by helping you formalize the coverage model on which the testing is based." Test data management can be a real challenge in the testing process. That is why TestCompass offers a simple way to separate tests and test data during modeling - whether or not generated by test generation tools - It allows testers to utilize variables in the model and include test data in the details of the related node. This functionality not only enhances flexibility but also simplifies test maintenance. By keeping the model intact while enabling changes to the test data, TestCompass ensures that adapting tests to changing requirements becomes effortless. Moreover, the test data from the model is automatically exported to the Excel test design, streamlining the process and ensuring accurate and up-to-date information. Why not try TestCompass for free and see if this works for you? 👇 🕸️ https:https://lnkd.in/gEq7XUZ #testdata #eMBT #TestCompass #Testmodel #maintanance #easytouse #variables
