Whiffle x Olympic gold medalist 🥇 Annette Duetz who did her research thesis at Whiffle 2 years ago won an Olympic gold medal in sailing last weekend for the Dutch team together with Odile van Aanholt! ⛵ Whiffle is used by many customers for efficient renewable energy development and operations. Annette used the technology to do a detailed study on the wind climate in the Marseille bay area, where the Olympic sailing took place and which has very challenging wind conditions. Congratulations! 👏

Become the world's leading Food & Agri Startup Hub by 2030 🌍🏆   That's the ambition that was discussed in a recent workshop with various stakeholders such as startups, investors and corporates. The key question was what needs to happen to realize that ambition with government support, funding, industrial partners and startups.   More governmental funding and sharing successes were mentioned as aspects that are required. Bram mentioned Meatless BV a company that we invested in and that was acquired in 2022. Bram: "I think that if you can profile and showcase such successes, this can be really inspirational for others to follow suit."   We appreciate the initiative and everyone who is contributing to it. 🌍 Mobility Sector Spotlight: Impact Report 2023 🌍 At SHIFT Invest, we catalyze the shift towards sustainable mobility by supporting innovative solutions that enable a modal shift towards more sustainable modes of transport, make more efficient use of transport assets and infrastructure, develop cleaner modes of transport and create more livable communities. A company we are proud to highlight in this year’s report is Maxem Energy Solutions, which develops cutting-edge hardware and software to optimize energy management at business sites. By reducing peak loads and optimizing charging operations based on factors such as solar production capacity, weather forecasts, and transport planning, Maxem helps businesses install EV charging points without requiring larger grid connections. Fleet electrification and energy management results in significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and helps resolve the bottleneck of inadequate grid capacity. 🌍 Green Industries Sector Spotlight: Impact Report 2023 🌍 At SHIFT Invest, we support innovative companies that facilitate the transition to industries that are powered by renewable energy, more efficient, less polluting, and more biobased. This year’s Impact Report highlights OMRT, a parametric design solution that enables real estate developers to design more material and energy efficient buildings. This is important as material and energy use account for almost 60% of a building’s climate impact. Roboat raises capital for autonomous technology enabling sustainable inland shipping 🚢   Roboat is developing advanced autonomous navigation systems for ships on inland waterways.
