Sunset over our 53 MWp solar farm in Glodeni, Romania. To build the solar farm, our engineers used 80,000 solar panels that follow the path of the sun. Rotating allows the panels to capture maximum sunlight, increasing the power generated by 10 to 25% more than fixed panels. DRI is committed to upholding best practice in sustainability and health & safety. Two weeks ago, DRI took part in the RES Days in Pula, where we marked our company’s entry into Croatia. Together with national, local, and international industry leaders, our colleagues discussed how to overcome the challenges of the Croatian market and unlock the country's great renewable energy potential. Watch the video to see a snapshot of the conference and our networking event where we unveiled plans for a 127.5MW wind farm and 400/110kV substation in the Split-Dalmatia area. 300 energy industry experts gathered at the Energy Strategy Summit, organised by Energynomics to discuss Romania's role in the European energy market, with a focus on renewable energy investments. DRI, as a player with 239 MW of wind and solar in Romania and plans to build a 1 GW portfolio by 2028, supported the event. John Stuart, CEO of DRI, gave an interview for the latest issue of the magazine, highlighting Romania's potential in wind, solar and storage, as well as DRI's commitment in the country. “We want to make a meaningful difference in the markets where we operate. In Romania, for instance, we are looking at 1 GW of renewable energy production and combining wind, solar and storage. We were really pleased that we managed to bring in our expertise and managed to get Glodeni solar park and Ruginoasa wind farm built in 10 months, from when we started construction to completion. We used our DRI’s international and engineering expertise, we put a lot of resources on those projects to get them operating as quickly as possible. It was the first wind farm to be built in Romania after the collapse of the support system 10 years ago.” John mentioned. Last week ten of our colleagues attended the Renewable Energy Sources of Croatia in Pula, Croatia, where DRI was a platinum sponsor of the event. During the event, two of our team members spoke as panelists and shared insights into our ambitions for Croatia, and we unveiled plans for a 127.5 MW wind farm and a 400/110 kV substation. DRI also hosted a networking event where we brought together national, local, and international partners to discuss our ambitions for Europe and plans to establish a robust portfolio of up to 500 MWp of renewable energy sources in Croatia. This was a fantastic first official event for DRI in Croatia and we look forward to future opportunities for growth and collaboration in the region.
