As part of Mr. Makhtar Diop's - Managing Director of the IFC - International Finance Corporation - recent visit to Nigeria, our esteemed partners at IFC hosted a rich roundtable discussion centered on critical developments within Nigeria's Disruptive Technologies and the VC ecosystem. This event explored potential avenues for further collaboration and partnership with the IFC, especially given the opportunities and macroeconomic realities in Nigeria. The IFC, a valued partner of ours, has actively invested in various key sectors in Nigeria, including technology, fostering the creation and sustainability of innovative solutions that drive economic growth. Our founding partner, Kola A., had the distinct honor of moderating this important event. The session, hosted by the IFC, was graced by distinguished leaders of the IFC led by Mr. Makhtar Diop, and Mr. Farid Fezoua, with participation from key players from leading startups in Nigeria including Piggyvest, Reliance HMO, FairMoney, Sun King, Vendease Africa and Trade Depot. We extend special thanks to the entire IFC team for organizing this significant dialogue and for their ongoing commitment to empowering disruptive technology entrepreneurs who are shaping Africa’s future.

#BackedByVP When we invested in Brass 4 years ago, we believed that African businesses needed a financial partner who would build top-end financial tools and services for them. In that time, Sola Akindolu, Emmanuel Okeke and the entire Brass team have done an excellent job building these tools to support tens of thousands of businesses, starting in Nigeria. Earlier in the year, Brass went through a difficult time. As one of its earliest investors, we still believed in the value that Brass brought to SMBs and the broader ecosystem. This conviction led us to facilitate and participate in the acquisition of Brass by a consortium led by Paystack, with participation from Piggyvest, and P1 Ventures. Following the acquisition, Brass will welcome a new leadership team. As we embrace this transition, we thank Sola and Emmanuel for the visionary foresight to build Brass and the great work they have done thus far. We are enthusiastic about this new chapter for Brass. The company will not only enhance its existing offerings but also innovate further to meet the evolving needs of businesses on the continent. Learn more - https://lnkd.in/dJduRZat
