I was at a loss for words when the call came early this morning that my dear friend of over 35 years, Marc Levine had passed away. I just went numb.

Marc was our photography chief since 1989 and his rule of thumb was never to say no to any request whether it came from the front office, player or a co-worker. He always tried to make everyone happy.

My phone has literally been ringing off the hook from former Mets who Marc worked with through the years. I have heard from David Wright, Darryl Strawberry, Dwight Gooden, Todd Zeile and John Franco, just name a few. They all expressed shock at his death.

Marc would not only do things for the players, but he would always supply photos for their families, too. I have been with this organization for 45 years now and I never met anyone who cared more about the Mets than Marc. He was constantly donating his time to various local charities to help them raise monies for their events.

I always made it a point to stop by his desk every morning to say hello.

He made me laugh and I made him laugh.

I just want to extend my sympathy to his wife Stephanie and is daughter Samanatha.

It just won’t be the same without you my friend.
