He has been in this broadcasting business now for 50 years. No one has done in better than my dear friend Howie Rose, the radio voice of our Mets.

In recognition of his great career, Howie will be honored prior our game with the Yankees on Tuesday. On Monday, WFAN will pay homage from 5pm to 6pm with Evan Roberts and Tikki Barber (simulcast on SNY) and from 6:30pm to 8pm Howie will be on the station by himself.

Make sure you tune in at 7:05pm because that’s when David Wright will be calling in to talk about Howie.

I just wanted to take a moment to reflect on my friendship with Howie. I am supposed to be the team historian, but no one knows more about the Mets than Howie Rose.

He knows about stuff than I never knew happened.

After the 2018 season I really was at the crossroads of my career. For 38 years, I had been the public relations person for the Mets and now I was asked to take on the alumni. Honestly, I didn’t know how it was going to work.

Howie knew and he encouraged me every step of the way to embrace my new job.

Every time we have an alumni visit; he is there to help.

To do something for 50 years is just unbelievable by itself. But to work in this market for so long is really unthinkable.

One thing for sure, I will be clapping like crazy Tuesday night at Citi Field.
