By March 21, 2024April 3rd, 2024Community Featured Mental Health Videos

Some people in the Asian American community may face pressures to create a sense of self that is deemed acceptable to both their family and its culture, as well as American culture. Esther Hio-Tong Castillo, Ph.D., founder of the Racial Healing Initiative for Women of Color Leaders; Dr. Noel Ramirez, LCSW, psychotherapist and director of Mango Tree Counseling and Consulting, LLC; and Anna Quan, support services coordinator of the Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation share why connectivity and resilience are key to mental health in this “How I Know My Mind video.

In the “How I Know My Mind” series, people throughout the Philadelphia region share ways they support their health and well-being by understanding the role mental health plays. The initiative is an extension of the Know Your Mind mental health public health campaign that Independence Blue Cross launched in 2020 to educate the community about symptoms of depression and anxiety and offer resources to support mental health.
