Nets vs. 76ers Game 3: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, best bet

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The Brooklyn Nets welcome the Philadelphia 76ers to Barclays Center on Thursday for Game 3 of their first-round playoff series and if you’re wondering how you can watch the action live, you’ve come to the right place! Philadelphia leads the series 2-0.

We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds, and over/under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet at BetMGM Sportsbook!

In Game 1, it was clear that Brooklyn wanted to make someone other than 76ers center Joel Embiid beat them. The Nets sent double-teams Embiid’s way whenever he touched the ball, but Philadelphia was able to find a way to beat that strategy and find other players to take advantage of the doubling. That led to the 76ers making a franchise playoff-record 21 three-pointers with 76ers guard James Harden making seven of them. Philadelphia won 121-101.

In Game 2, Philadelphia won on Monday 96-84, it was a game that encapsulated a tale of two halves for Brooklyn. The Nets won the first half 49-44 because of how well Cam Johnson was playing (finished the game with 28 points, 22 points in the first half) and how poor Philadelphia was playing on offense. However, the Nets scored just 35 points in the second half and no one other than Mikal Bridges (21 points) has been able to step up in the scoring department to help out.

The 76ers have been dominating the Nets in the offensive rebounding category and Brooklyn has been unable to sustain any kind of consistent scoring in the second half. Both will be huge areas to look for in Game 3.

This game can be seen locally on the YES Network (Nets) and NBC Sports Philadelphia (76ers).

Advice and prediction

This series has gone as expected. Most people know that Philadelphia is the better team, but they have not played their best basketball as of yet. Brooklyn has hung tough with the 76ers in Games 1 and 2, but the team has sputtered in the second of both games possibly due to the relative lack of playoff experience. Either way, in both games, the contests have been double-digit margins of defeat so it’s probably a good pick to take Philadelphia to win by more than three points.

Prediction: 76ers 110, Nets 105
