NCES 2024103 PISA 2022 Financial Literacy Results
Financial literacy is offered as an optional domain in PISA. In PISA, the assessment of financial literacy focuses on students� ability to understand and engage with financial concepts and risks and apply their knowledge to real-life situations. The US participated in 2022 as well as the initial assessment in 2012, 2015, and 2018.

NCES 2023085 Families� Participation in School Choice and Importance of Factors in School Choice Decisions in 2019
This data point explores the types of schools that children attend, whether parents consider more than one school for their child, and the reasons parents report as being important when they consider schools for their children. It uses data from the 2019 administration of the National Household Education Surveys (NHES) Parent and Family Involvement in Education (PFI) questionnaire. This data point provides information specifically about those children who were enrolled in a school. First, it provides an overview of the percentages of students who were enrolled in four different types of schools: public assigned schools, public chosen schools, private religious schools, and private nonreligious schools. Next, among families that considered more than one school for their child, this publication explores reasons why families chose the schools they did.

On May 7, 2024, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) will release Revenues and Expenditures for Public Elementary and Secondary Education: School Year 2021�22 (Fiscal Year 2022). This first look report presents state-level data on revenues by source and expenditures by function and object for public elementary and secondary education for school year 2021�22. The tables present data submitted annually to NCES by state education agencies in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and other jurisdictions.

This commemorative guide provides an overview of the history and use of federal education statistics that have been collected and reported by the federal education statistics agency (now the National Center for Education Statistics) since 1868. The �statistical profiles� in this report use updated historical trend data from 120 Years of American Education: A Statistical Portrait to offer an in-depth look at what each statistic measures, how it has been collected over the years, and what the data reveal about the statistic. First published with nine statistical profiles in November 2022, the report was updated in April 2024 to include additional content. Examples of statistics covered in the report include elementary and secondary student enrollment and achievement; high school graduates and graduation rates, and postsecondary student costs, degrees conferred, and finances. Readers can browse these profiles online and download PDFs of individual profiles.

NCES 2024022 High School Longitudinal Study of 2009 (HSLS:09): A First Look at the 2021 Postsecondary Enrollment, Completion, and Financial Aid Outcomes of Fall 2009 Ninth-Graders
This First Look report provides selected findings from the High School Longitudinal Study of 2009 (HSLS:09) Postsecondary Education Administrative Records Collection (PEAR). HSLS:09 follows a nationally representative sample of students who were ninth-graders in fall 2009 from high school into postsecondary education and the workforce. The PEAR data collection was conducted in 2021, approximately 8 years after high school graduation for most of the cohort. These data provide information on whether fall 2009 ninth-graders enrolled in postsecondary education by June 2021, and allow researchers to examine enrollment characteristics, degree completion, and financial aid awards for the subset of fall 2009 ninth-graders who enrolled in postsecondary education.
