The Kiwa Initiative is a multi-donor program that aims to strengthen the climate change resilience of Pacific Island ecosystems, communities and economies through Nature-Based Solutions (NBS), that is to say by protecting, sustainably managing and restoring biodiversity. It is founded on an easier access to climate change adaptation and NBS funding for local and national governments, civil society and regional organizations in Pacific Island Countries and territories, including the three French overseas territories. This account was created and maintained with the financial support of the European Union, Agence Française de Développement, (AFD), Global Affairs Canada (GAC), Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT). 🌿🌏🤝 Reviving Raviravi : comment la #plantation de #mangrove transforme les communautés côtières des Fidji 🌏 L'initiative Kiwa favorise l'adaptation au changement climatique avec le soutien de cinq bailleurs, dont le ministère néo-zélandais des Affaires étrangères et du Commerce New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade. Ils ont récemment réalisé une vidéo présentant les progrès d'un projet local Kiwa dans le village de #Raviravi, #Fiji. Lorsque les palourdes atteignent une taille convenable, elles sont commercialisées. 🌿🌏🤝Adapting to climate change in the Pacific: Nature-based Solutions #SfN in #Palaos. 🏝️Food security, gender equality and socio-economic resilience, are all co-benefits of the local Kiwa Initiative project in Palau. 🎯The aim of this local project is to restore the natural stock of sea cucumbers and contribute to the economic development of the lead women working on the project. When clams reach a suitable size, they are marketed.
