Jeffrey Cheah Foundation and the UN-SDSN launched a teacher professional development programme to advance Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) at the “ESD for 2030 Regional Meeting on Transforming the Futures of Education” at Sunway University. Supported by the Ministry of Education, this initiative will see the development and delivery of capacity-building development programme on ESD for teachers in Malaysian national and national-type schools.   Our founder and chairman Tan Sri Sir Jeffrey Cheah KBE AO announced the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation's decision to fund the expansion of this programme to 30 more schools, involving more than 2,500 teachers nationwide.   The ceremony was officiated by the Undersecretary of Strategic Planning and International Relations at the Ministry of Education Puan Fadzilah Fadzi, who is also Secretary-General of the Malaysian National Commission for UNESCO (MNCU).   #SDSN #Sustainability #Sunway #Education Sustainable Development Solutions Network

Minister of Higher Education YB Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir and his delegation visited the Jeffrey Cheah Biomedical Centre at University of Cambridge during his working visit to the UK, accompanied by Higher Education director-general Prof. Dr. Azlinda Azman, ministry senior officials and the vice-chancellors of Malaysian public universities. The Minister was introduced to the Centre’s major research work, including critical COVID-19 research pivotal to UK’s pandemic response; groundbreaking research in stem cells and therapeutics; and a collaborative research project on nasopharyngeal carcinoma genomics co-led by Dr. Felicia Chung, PhD, P.Tech (Biotechnology), Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Sciences of Sunway University, and Dr. Serena Nik-Zainal, an award-winning Professor of Genomic Medicine and Bioinformatics at the University of Cambridge.
