Last week, Setelnators attended an insightful Job Description workshop, where we delved deep into the art of crafting effective job descriptions. Our expert consultant provided a detailed step-by-step guide on developing comprehensive job descriptions, emphasizing clarity and precision. During the session, we engaged in an interactive exercise to apply these principles and create well-written job descriptions tailored to various roles within our organization. The hands-on approach helped us understand the nuances of highlighting key responsibilities, required qualifications, and the unique aspects that make each position at Setel stand out. This skill-focused training session aligns with our active goal of building our current and upcoming leaders. Setel’s love for hosting monumental events in the Setel Office has struck again! We spent last Friday having fun with members of the Google Developer Students Club of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, sharing about employability trends and how they can excel at being the best of the best in the market, and also about AI and its heavy involvement in the tech world. Thanks to Indra who presented the latter, we even got a few demos of how they are utilized in tech! Our team also had a great time chatting with the students and answering all of their impressive questions. We even have a number of students saying they are already mentally typing out their application to Setel—and we are SO ready! Last Friday, our Setel Talent Attraction Team representatives, Wei Yan Chan and Nurul Farhanah (Nunu) went over to APU for their Employee and Employment Trends forum to answer and discuss current work and hiring trends. From discussing how 4-day work weeks can happen, to overwhelming brain fog ☁️ at work, the panel covered a lot of crucial topics for the up-and-coming graduates. The forum was made fun and more informative with the presence of other panelists: Gajendran Karunanithi from IBM, Nur Atiqah binti Mohammad Ikhsan from Infoline IT, and Caleb Chong from WISE AI. The panel had a blast sharing their thoughts especially when presented with a variety of questions from the crowd. We even got to send the attendees home with our Setel swag (yes, there was a blue wave exiting the auditorium 🌊)! We are glad to have been invited and given the opportunity to be up close with future professionals at APU. Setel is excited to witness a passionate generation of youth to join and conquer the workforce, and we look forward to providing them with a solid platform some part of the way. #LifeAtSetel

A few weeks ago the Setel Talent Attraction Team sent over a representative, Japheth T., as a guest panelist at Sunway University's forum focusing on "Hiring Challenges in the Tech Landscape." This insightful event targeted Sunway undergraduates and soon-to-be graduates, allowing Setel to offer invaluable advice on navigating the competitive tech job market. Alongside esteemed panelists Caryn Ng from PwC and Angela Lee from Sunway University, Japheth shared his knowledge on the stages of our hiring process, the importance of soft skills, and strategies for being a part of a diverse talent pipeline. The Q&A session were vibrant with eager students wanting to learn about common resume mistakes and how to prepare for technical interviews, and we’re glad they got the answers they were looking for!
