NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Polson cowboy Gavin Knutson, who has helped take Montana Western to the College National Finals Rodeo this spring as a sophomore, has been selected by the Nashville Stampede in the Professional Bull Riders Teams New Rider Draft.
Knutson was the third pick of the third round Wednesday, the 23rd overall selection.
Knutson, also a tie-down roper and team roper, won the Big Sky Region bull riding title for the second straight year for the Bulldogs.
Knutson, who graduated from Ignite Christian Academy in 2022, was a two-time Class A state wrestling qualifier for Polson. He was a three-time Montana High School Rodeo Association state qualifier, was the 2022 state champion tie-down roper and twice qualified for the National High School Rodeo Association finals.
The 2024 PBR Camping World Team Series features 12 regular-season events. It begins July 12-14 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and concludes in October with the PBR Teams Championship in Las Vegas.
