The Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest apparently doesn't want your input regarding outfitter/guides.
After withdrawing their recent attempt to greatly increase outfitter client days to 33,000 days, the Forest is trying to lock you out of commenting on issuing permanent status to 50 current temporary outfitters or even outfitters operating without any permit. They want to permanently permit thousands of outfitted client days to these outfitters without soliciting public comments or allowing the public to formally object by using a Categorical Exemption 66778. You wouldn't even know about this unless you read the Legal Notices. These outfitters will occupy different parts of the forest doing different activities and interact with you and others who are trying to use the Forest.
Take a minute and write an email to Allison.Landro@usda.gov letting her know you think the public deserves to have input and each outfitting operation deserves to be reviewed and analyzed separately.

Some of us think the public deserves to be able to comment on how their forest is managed.
