The Montana Free Press stated Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen participated in 22 lawsuits challenging Biden administration policies, rules, and actions. His participation was as a plaintiff, an amicus curia, or an intervenor in federal and appellate courts across the country based on Knudsen’s public statements and federal court records.
Knudsen joined the Texas AG arguing the results of the 2020 Presidential election constituted fraud, (the U.S. Supreme Court threw this out).
Knudsen and 17 state AGs signed a letter to President Biden requesting all medical records of their state’s citizens be released to them (regardless of where the medical services were received). The AGs wanted private and personal records that are protected by the Federal HIPAA Law without the patient’s consent.
Knudsen also joined challenges regarding the cancellation of Keystone XL permits, vaccine mandates for health care workers, a bump-stock ban, and many more.

Most recently Knudsen and 10 other GOP state AGs filed an amicus brief in federal court attacking the US Justice Department for its court-authorized search of Trump’s Florida home. The AGs accused the FBI of “ransacking” Trump’s home. Trump refused to return top secret documents comprising national security.
Knudsen interfered with a Republican patient’s Covid treatment at St. Peter’s Hospital in Helena. He sent the MT Highway Patrol to intimidate the doctors, nurses, and other hospital staff.
Many of these actions by Knudsen seem to be politically motivated. Politically motivated court cases should not be funded by Montana tax payers. Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen should not be re-elected.
