For Ste. Genevieve, railroads widened connections to other communities and created new economic opportunities while enhancing existing ones. Felix Vallé himself was involved in gaining the first rail line from St. Louis to southeast Missouri: the Iron Mountain Rail. The railroad was important to his business ventures and those of many others.
Join us in the Shaw House at Felix Vallé House State Historic Site to learn more about railroads, their importance, and the people who have traveled them. You will also get to make your own train craft!
This is event is free and open to the public. Registration is not required; just stop by anytime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
