Marshall Ramsey

Twenty five years ago, I flew to Jackson, Mississippi, from San Diego, California. I was on a job interview — one that would lead to my career here as an editorial cartoonist. I spent the weekend talking to people at the newspaper where I was interviewing — in restaurants, at the hotel where I was staying and on flights. And, as wild as the interview was (a story for another day), there was one reason why I took the job — the people. Mississippi’s super power is its people. We are a land of great stories and storytellers. That’s why I’ve created the series Mississippi Stories.

Mississippi Stories is a weekly series of discussions with some of Mississippi’s most interesting people. Some are famous, some aren’t — and some will be! The golden thread, though, that runs through every one of them is that they are all Mississippi originals. Be prepared to be entertained and at times informed.
