I think this might be Streisand’s version of Mitchell and Webb’s “Now We Know.” If this scene for seduction were lingerie, I think it starts out wearing her, but ends with her owning it?

LOVE that moment after she claims she drinks pate all day, when she imitates the statue. Gosh. It’s much more crafted than “Now We Know”—her panic gets performed in rhymed couplets—but the total internal irreverence for the moment and the intrusion of legal and etiquette questions is very Peep Show. Date rape? Hmmm… I’m submitting a Judy Garland song as an additional case study for us to consider.
