Mary Elizabeth Ardizzone, a lifelong resident of Jeffersonville, NY died following a short illness Friday, July 5, 2024, at Garnet Health Medical Center, Middletown, NY surrounded by her loved ones. She was 91.

The daughter of the late William and Alice Hardenburg Ellmauer, she was born October 23,1932 in Callicoon, NY.

In her younger years, Mary worked at Hahn’s boarding house; and later she was a waitress at Ted’s Restaurant in Jeffersonville and The Antrim Lodge in Roscoe.

Mary was tough as nails and she would tell you, she was that way from growing up on the farm with her five siblings and her horses, Tom & Dick. She had a love for bowling, playing bingo, and slots; she had an impeccable green thumb and took great pride in her flowers. She was an avid sports fan and spent a lot of time watching NASCAR along with her favorite baseball, basketball, and football teams. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family and in recent years was overjoyed getting to spend time with her great grandchildren, they were the light of her life. She is going to be greatly missed by those who had the privilege to know her and spend time with her.

Survivors include one son, Robert Ardizzone and his wife Fanny of Florida; three daughters, Deborah Theysohn and her husband Wilbur of Damascus, PA, Mary Head of Hortonville, N.Y. and Tina Gorr and her fiancé Jerry of Jeffersonville, NY; one brother, Lee Ellmauer (Barbara); three sisters, Lillian Hanslmaier (George) Alice Elberth (Wayne), and Sally Eronimous (Tom); four grandchildren, Joseph Head (Cassie), Heather Theysohn (Rob), Kristen Johnston (Pete), & Krystle Gorr (Mitch); her beloved six great grandchildren, Angelica, Elijah, Callaghan, Callie, Fiadh, & Raegan; her step great grandchild, Makaila Houghtaling; one sister-in-law, Carol Ellmauer; her special neighbors, The Murphy Family; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Arthur Ardizzone; and one brother, Leo Ellmauer.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 13, 2024, from 10:30AM to 12:30 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 12:30 PM in the funeral home.

Dignified cremation provided by Harris Crematorium, LLC. Burial of the cremains will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Youngsville, NY.

Memorial contributions in Mary’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
