It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Andrew Brandon Herbert West resident of Montgomery, NY. Andrew, aged 33, passed away on Friday June 28, 2024. He was notably the first baby boy born at the New York–Presbyterian Allen Hospital on September 12, 1990, a milestone celebrated in a feature article.
Andrew was a distinguished athlete with numerous accolades and a competitive spirit that inspired many. He was deeply loved by his mother, Radaisy West, his older brother, and four sisters, his nieces and nephews, and countless other friends and family members.
Andrew initially pursued studies in Business Administration at the University of Hartford before finding his true calling in Architecture at SUNY Orange. He was dedicated to completing his degree and was passionate about his work in the field. He was a 2008 graduate of Valley Central High School.
Andrew is survived by his mother, Radaisy West; his brother, Bobby West; and his sisters, Teri West, Belizabeth Rios, Angela Rios, and Jayleene West. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Lee Silverman and Luiz Da Silva; his nephews, Joshua Silverman and Luiz Da Silva; his nieces, Rachel Silverman and Bella Romero; and his beloved dog Mya West.
Andrew will be remembered for his remarkable athletic achievements, his love for the New York Yankees and New York Knicks. Andrew’s humor, competitive and passionate spirit often inspired others to push themselves beyond what they imagined possible.
Memorial visitation will be Friday, July 12, 2024, 5pm-8pm at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, NY 12586. Friends and family are welcome to share memories and stories starting at 6pm.
