LIBERTY – “We need to make sure that our kids are eating,” remarked Sullivan County BOCES food service director Dawn Parsons, pointing out that ensuring children have healthy meals is important especially when school is out for the summer.
The BOCES Summer Food Service Program started on Monday and its goal is to close the food insecurity gap among people under 18 years of age.
“If we don’t have programs for the summer we always worry about those kids not getting meals,” said Parsons.
Pickup sites for summer meals are located centrally throughout the county. For information about the program, visit scBOCES.org.
