CARMEL – Members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Corps of Cadets experienced a real eye-opener Monday when assisting deputies and investigators in an active shooting exercise.
Several of the cadets acted as role players during a variety of active shooter scenarios.
Sheriff Kevin McConville said the teenager’s participation is vital to the success of the drills. “Without their volunteering, training days like these would not be possible and we love having the opportunity to allow our cadets to get some hands-on learning.”
During the realistic drill, cadets also brushed up on their tourniquet application skills.
