ALBANY – Unemployment in all counties in the Hudson Valley/Catskills region rose slightly in the 12 months ending in May, the State Labor Department said.
Columbia County, with a 3.0 rate, was the lowest in the region, still up from 2.5 percent one year earlier.
Greene County, across the Hudson River from Columbia, had the highest rate in the region with 4.0 percent, up from 3.5 percent in May 2023.
Sullivan County and Putnam County each reported 3.4 percent joblessness in May while Dutchess County registered 3.5 percent and Ulster County scored a 3.6 percent rate.
