WHITE PLAINS – A Westchester County grand jury has indicted a 41-year-old New Rochelle woman on charges that she tortured and killed her girlfriend, 27-year-old Concetta Morton.

Kenya Tilford was charged with two counts of murder, strangulation, concealment of a human corpse, tampering with physical evidence, two counts of intimidating a victim or witness, two counts of assault, unlawful imprisonment, three counts of aggravated sexual abuse, kidnapping, attempted assault, strangulation, coercion, and menacing.

It is alleged that Tilford tortured Morton for three months, and ultimately caused her death by asphyxiation before concealing her body inside a storage bin at her Franklin Avenue apartment.

During that period, Tilford was captured on surveillance video purchasing a hooded coverall, bleach, tarps, paper towels, rubber gloves, a chainsaw, and the storage bin in which the victim’s body was found.

Tilford is also charged with intimidating one individual, threatening an individual, threatening another with a knife, physically and sexually assaulting an intimate partner, and sexually assaulting and attempting to physically assault another intimate partner who she also allegedly intimidated.

New Rochelle Police arrested Tilford on September 15, 2023, at an Elmsford hotel after Tarrytown Police received a tip about the victim’s dead body.

Westchester District Attorney Miram Rocah said the county medical examiner and Violent Crime Enterprise Unit, and Crime Analyst Alessa Vicari assisted with the investigation.
