To our Republican friends in Patterson:
Firstly, we believe Patterson Republicans should decide who their next County Legislator should be. Not outside parties, not even the Republicans signing this letter below. We would, however, like to share with you our thoughts and impressions about the candidate we believe best merits your strong consideration for County Legislator, since we have all worked alongside her in government, have known her personally or have been involved in community groups and causes with her.
Jennifer Bumgarner is a lifelong Republican and a sound fiscal conservative. We, sitting Republican County Legislators, all support and endorse Jennifer and ask that you – our fellow Republicans – give her your vote in the current Republican Primary.
Not only has Jennifer clearly and fully demonstrated to us that she is the best choice to represent Patterson on the Putnam County Legislature, she is the most qualified and experienced candidate, which makes her primed to defeat a Democrat in November!
Jennifer has been an attorney for 27 years and a resident of Putnam County for all that time. She served the taxpayers of Putnam in the County’s Law Department for 25 years. She has a deep understanding of how County government works, and will therefore be able to use that knowledge to help find creative solutions to issues that may arise in the future.
Jennifer, along with her husband Craig, has also raised a family in Patterson. She understands the challenges that we face as taxpayers and as working parents. Both of her children graduated from the Carmel schools and both give back to their community. Her son recently graduated from college and commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corp. Her daughter will be a Junior at the University of Georgia in the fall and has plans to go on to law school. Jennifer and Craig have instilled their deep Republican values and beliefs in both of their children.
Having a County Legislator who is a successful working mother, and who has strong prior county government knowledge and experience who will be able to hit the ground running in January is critical to effective representation for Patterson. Jennifer has demonstrated that she works well with our existing Putnam County Legislators. As a taxpayer herself with college age children and two aging parents, she understands the challenges that we all face living in Putnam County. She has a strong commitment to keeping a lid on County spending and lowering taxes, and will continue to help the legislature to lower taxes.
