This is the first picture of a young Ryanair pilot who was killed in a horror motorway crash along with his colleague while they were on the way to the airport.
Senior First Officer Jamie Fernandes, 24, who has been pictured, was travelling in a taxi with Captain Matt Greenhalgh, 28, when it was involved in a smash with two lorries on the M62.
The pair were en-route to Liverpool John Lennon Airport when the shocking incident happened at around 5.31am yesterday morning.
Emergency services raced to the westbound carriageway between junctions seven and eight near St Helens, Cheshire, around 10 miles from the airport.
But despite the best efforts of paramedics, Jamie and Matt were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the taxi was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains.
A 61-year-old man who was driving one of the lorries has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Both Jamie and Matt’s next of kin are being supported by specialist officers, Cheshire Police said.
The force is now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Earlier this week, two boys, aged 13 and 18, were also killed in a motorbike crash in County Durham.
