Lily Allen has shared a masterclass in petty revenge.
The Smile hitmaker, 39, once got her own back on an industry rival in such a sly way that, well, it’s kinda brilliant.
Pop star Lily – who recently set up an OnlyFans account for her feet – divulged how a row broke out between her and the unnamed individual, who appeared jealous over Lily spending one-on-one time with her boyfriend for work.
Telling the story on her Miss Me? podcast, the LDN songstress explained that the incident took place when she was just 24 years old and staying at Sir Elton John’s house in the South of France.
Chatting to pal and co-host Miquita Oliver, 40, Lily omitted the name of the woman involved, unfortunately for us.
She did, however, drop some hints, describing the other star as ‘a lot older’ and ‘more successful’, but still hailing her as ‘incredibly beautiful’ despite their beef.
The A-lister is said to have contacted Lily to perform at a charity event, which the singer initially thought she had to turn down as she was staying at Sir Elton’s home (in 2009) following struggles with alcohol.
Lily recalled: ‘While I was there, I got a phone call from somebody very famous at the time asking me if I could perform at a charity event that they were involved in. She was asking me to sing a song with her boyfriend, who was a musician.
‘I said, “I’d love to but it’s next week and I haven’t got any time to rehearse because I’m in the South of France.”
‘She was like, “Don’t worry, we’ll come out there and we’ll rehearse with you.”
‘They come to the South of France, they arrive, and it’s like late afternoon and she’s like, “I think you guys should sing The Sound of Silence”.’
Lily was dubious originally, describing the song as ‘out of [her] comfort zone’ which gave the other lady ‘the hump.’
‘I said, ‘Look, I’ll go downstairs with your boyfriend and we’ll practise the song and then we’ll come up and then we’ll sing it for you and see how you feel about it”.’
The woman’s reply to this suggestion was not what Lily expected.
‘She grabbed my arm and she said, “If you think I’m leaving you alone with my f***ing boyfriend you’ve got another thing coming”.’ – Yikes!
‘I was on my own in this house and it was the two of them and just me, and she was quite a lot older than me, and a lot more famous and more successful, and I just thought, “I’m stranded and you’ve got me snookered.”
‘And I was like, “I’m banking this feeling and I will remember it, and I will get you back one day”.’
Lily did, indeed, get her revenge, assuring that the woman’s boyfriend was ‘not someone [she] found remotely attractive’ in the first place, so his girlfriend had no reason to consider her ‘a threat’.
On how she eventually ensured karma worked its magic, Lily – who is married to David Harbour – explained: ‘We get to London, we do the event, make loads of money for the charity – she never said thank you for my involvement.
‘A couple of weeks later, I got asked by an awards ceremony if I would be the recipient of a very prestigious award. I said, “Yes, thank you so much, that’s very nice.”
‘And then they said, “Is there anybody that you would like to present you with the said award?”‘

At this point, the Not Fair vocalist discovered her award would be the penultimate one of the evening.
‘I was like, “There is no way this person will be able to hold themselves together for that long and if I can stay sober then she’ll have to present me with the award when I’m looking pristine and brilliant and she looks completely f***ed”,’ the music icon shared deviously.
‘And it f***ing worked. Front cover of the papers the next day were like, “So-and-so was a complete mess,” and then pictures of me with my award.’
Well, we guess you could say that she got her comeuppance!
Lily wants it known, though, that ‘all is forgiven’ on her part and she doesn’t hold any resentment towards the woman, whom listeners of her pod will no doubt be scrambling to identify now.
‘That person, I actually really like them now. It was just a particularly bad phase that both of us were going through at the time,’ she shared. ‘So if you are listening and you recognise yourself in this story, I’m sorry.’
‘It was particularly petty,’ Lily confessed.
Of course, the London-born star is no stranger to a bit of celebrity beef.
Back in 2006, she began feuding with Cheryl, later clarifying that she was merely jealous of Girls Aloud and their success.
Lily has also had rows with controversial figures Piers Morgan and Katie Hopkins, as well as Courtney Love and Fearne Cotton.
