I asked my partner to choose the porn I watched for a week

‘I don’t want you to watch,’ I told my partner, who was eagerly looking at me. 

Lying in my bathtub, I tried not to drop my phone in the water as I moved my eyes away from him and back on to two women rolling around on a mattress on my screen.

Their naked bodies were covered in so much massage oil that it resembled dripping goo.

I’ve always enjoyed porn, but in the past few months, I’ve become bored by the repetitive scenarios and genres I usually end up watching.

So, I came up with an idea – in an effort to spice things up and reignite my love for a dirty film, I asked my lover to send me something to watch every day for a week.

As I looked at my screen, I wondered if I’d made a horrible mistake. 

My partner sat on a stool in the bathroom, with an apologetic look on his face. 

Having recently told him that my sexuality is fluid, I wasn’t surprised when he dug out a ‘girl-on-girl’ clip as my first watch.

But the sounds and actions were clearly exaggerated and not something I imagine any woman – gay, straight or otherwise – would find attractive. The oil sludge was extremely off-putting, too.

But I didn’t expect what happened next.

As the film came to an end, the video threw up a few ‘suggested’ options, one of which looked appealing. I clicked on it, and in one second, this unexpected clip brought my libido back to life.

It was a gentler and more authentic lesbian scenario.

I was eager to start pleasuring myself but with my fully dressed lover in the same room, I suddenly felt embarrassed – which is why I asked him to exit.

He then threw a curveball.

‘Okay, I’ll just have a wank in the living room while you have one in here,’ he said.

The experience was thrilling. Knowing that we were both seeing to ourselves somewhere in the same house made my toes curl.

A few minutes later, we both climaxed – separately.

The fact he selected a clip with actors who have this body shape is oddly flattering.

You see, my partner frequently tells me how much he enjoys my body, even the rounder parts that I sometimes feel awkward about myself.

It helped confirm his love for my curvy frame, which not only made me feel appreciated but also got my motor running.

Thankfully, there was no oil in sight.

My lover spooned me from behind while playing with himself, as I focused on my own pleasure.

The fact we weren’t facing each other made the experience even hotter. I could feel him in my back and his breath on my neck, as he kissed my shoulder. 

The porn was quite unremarkable but it was a nice background effect to our activities. 

Ever the dutiful partner, he kept sending me a clip every day but watching porn for seven days straight is actually quite exhausting.

Work and life got in the way, and I’m not horny 24/7.

So I decided to save the last few options for one big porn viewing session instead.

I set myself up in bed, having sent my partner to the shops to get us some snacks. He had no idea what I was up to but was pleasantly surprised by what he encountered on his return.

Once again, I felt embarrassed, just as I had in the bathtub – not because I was in any way ashamed of watching porn. I believe adult movies can be a great tool to help people explore their sexuality, if it is done with care.

I just usually enjoy porn solo – this week has pushed me out of my comfort zone. 

Nevertheless, I shook off the feeling and asked him to take his clothes off and join me. 

Watching the screen, we both stifled a laugh as a woman knelt blindfolded on the floor, while she ‘tasted’ each of her friends in an effort to guess which vulva belonged to which pal. 

They all took a turn and it began to feel quite repetitive.

Five minutes later, there was a badly-produced transition and the same women were now poolside, having sex with each other and a group of men in a very loud orgy.

My lover found the scene hot but I was too distracted by the different sex positions, faces and bodies to focus on my task at hand. None of them looked like they were having that much fun.

We moved onto the next choice – and our final dirty film for the week.

I asked my lover to select something a bit more unusual; something that he enjoyed that might be considered out of the norm.

He typed in ‘female fake taxi’ – a genre I’d never really heard of. 

It’s pretty much what it says on the tin; a woman drives a female passenger in her taxi, and then they shag in the backseat. 

Their thick British accents were jarring to me – I couldn’t stop giggling –  but my partner loved it. The porn didn’t add much to my experience but it was nice to learn something new about him.

All in all, I highly recommend this experiment.

Just be careful when you select the porn and perhaps start with something less graphic. For instance, if your lover rarely watches porn, don’t jump straight into a gang-bang scenario.

I gave my sexual partner free reign but he knows me well, so I wasn’t concerned. I was just so pleasantly surprised by how exciting it was to await his daily selection.
