Donald Trump has gone from saying he would ban TikTok while president, to the complete opposite of that just days after making his debut on the popular social media platform.

Trump in March flip-flopped from supporting to opposing a potential ban of the popular Chinese government-owned app in the US. On Thursday, he went on the record going all the way in favor of TikTok.

‘You’ll never ban TikTok, that’s for sure?’ Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk asked Trump in a post on platform.

‘I will never ban TikTok,’ replied Trump.

Kirk started the 30-second video clip by asking Trump what his message was to young voters.

‘Well, the big message is vote for Trump. We’re going to make our country greater than ever before. We had something going, it was incredible, and just horrible what’s happened. This is the worst president in history, Joe Biden,’ Trump said.

‘And you look at it even as a representative, he goes over to France and something happened that’s not good. I don’t know what it is.’

Trump did not elaborate on what he was referring to regarding Biden in France. Biden on Thursday was mocked for appearing to try to sit down on an invisible chair or pooping while at a ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

The ex-president concluded: ‘We’re going to make our country greater than it ever was before, and I appreciate all your support.’

Trump made his first post on TikTok on Saturday during a UFC fight in New Jersey, just two days after a guilty verdict in his hush money trial made him the first former US president to become a convicted felon.

Within hours of his debut, Trump gained more TikTok followers than Biden, and had amassed 5.8million as of Friday afternoon.

Biden in April signed a law that gives TikTok’s Beijing-based parent company, ByteDance, up to nine months to sell the company or face a nationwide ban. US lawmakers have deemed TikTok a national security threat and expressed concern over privacy around American users’ data.
