Mendip Nature Connections

Spending time outdoors and connecting with nature can greatly support our mental and physical health.

We’re excited to be delivering a new project through the Mendip Hills National Landscape Team in 2024/25, building on the great work achieved by a previous partnership project with Somerset Wildlife Trust, which aims to connect people with nature and the countryside to support wellbeing.

The project aims to tackle some of the barriers that prevent people experiencing the health and wellbeing benefits of the Mendip Hills National Landscape’s spectacular natural environment.

This year, activities and locations will focus on connecting local people with open spaces and farms in North Somerset, in or near to the Mendip Hills. Activities will include wellbeing walks and a structured 6-18 week programme aimed at encouraging and increasing self-management of mental health for individuals, as well as increasing the links with the NHS and health and social care providers and developing a network of skilled volunteers.

Taster sessions will run on Wednesday 3rd and 10th July (1pm – 3pm) and the first 6-week course will start on Wednesday 24th July (10am – 2:30pm) – all sessions will take place at Coleridge Road Community Gardens in Bournville, Weston-super-Mare.

To register your interest in attending a taster session or course, please click here to complete a form.

We will then give you a call to confirm your booking and to chat through any questions or concerns that you might have.
