One of the biggest questions a writer can ask when finishing their first book is how to publish it.

Currently, there are thousands of publishers with experiences and reputations from which you can choose, but there are also hundreds of options for publishing on your own.

This was the question I asked myself at the beginning of the year when I finished my first romance novel and had no idea what to do next.

On one part, I wanted my book to appear in one of the distinguished publishers. My dream has always been to be a recognized writer, and I understood that this was the easiest way to climb the ladder.

However, I was not recognized.

There was no way I would have been selected if nobody knew me, and I didn’t know how to find an agent while living outside the States.

So, even though I didn’t know what being a self-publishing author entailed, I decided to start researching how I could achieve it since it was my *only* option at the moment.

At the end of the day, I decided to go for a vanity press (a company that formats, edits, and publishes your book for a fee) out of ignorance. I thought that way, I could have a professional book…
