Why Is Kindness So Rare?

Society isn’t what it used to be.

They say kindness is a weakness, but I see it as a strength. It takes courage to step up and step out. It takes bravery to approach others and help them. It takes empathy to be able to relate to someone and help them feel like they aren’t alone.

Where has kindness gone in this world? It seems like every day it gets worse and worse. Respecting and truly caring for others seems to be a thing of the past. Everyone seems like they are out for themselves.

Don’t get me wrong, there are many great people in this world. Some beautiful souls are even like angels on Earth and there are decent human beings everywhere, but there has been a definite downward spiral in humanity.

Strangely

In this world, it seems that it’s rare to be nice. So rare, that a nice gesture, a kind word, a helpful hand, or a compliment can be taken the wrong way. Have you ever wanted to help someone or say nice things to them simply because you wanted to?

Nowadays, it seems like one cannot be nice without someone thinking something more of it! Some people genuinely want to help and share their honest feelings, and sometimes others take that as a sign of making advances so to speak, as if one is coming onto the other.
