Whether a family-friendly trail ride along sparkling McGee Creek south of Mammoth Lakes, or a backcountry Sierra pack trip, see the best of the Eastern Sierra with the help of our gentle horses and mules.

Known for exceptional safety and the care we give our horses and mules, we offer spot trips or ‘drop camps’ and dunnage* trips to beautiful high country lakes, sparkling streams and emerald green meadows. Our service will take you to areas of the John Muir Wilderness as well as Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. Plan your Wilderness vacation today!

Daily Summer Rides

THE PACK STATION IS OPEN JUNE THROUGH SEPTEMBER AND CLOSED OCTOBER THROUGH MAY. DURING THE OFF SEASON WE OFFER MULE AND HORSEBACK RIDES IN THE ALABAMA HILLS IN LONE PINE AND THE TUNGSTEN HILLS IN BISHOP.

WINTER RIDES OFFERED OCTOBER – APRIL

Here’s how it works:
Please call for reservations. On the day of your ride we trailer our horses and mules from their winter pastures to meet you at the specified trailhead in the Alabama or the Tungsten Hills. We’ll enjoy a scenic 2 – 3 hour ride, stopping as often as necessary for photos! At the end of the ride we will return to the trailhead where your car is parked.  Rides are private and by reservation only with a two rider minimum. We request that reservations are made at least 48 hours in advance. Rides are available from October (starting with the Lone Pine Film Festival) through April. Generally our ‘off-season’ from the Pack Station!

Please Call (760) 935-4324 or email for more details.  Group discounts available.

*Dunnage: Pack mules carry your camping or backpacking gear while you hike to your destination.
