Mama loves you!

About us

Exciting design, inclusivity, good food and a playful atmosphere: these are the elements running through Mama Shelter’s DNA. Founded by Serge Trigano and his sons Jérémie and Benjamin, the brand shook up the hospitality world with a daring ‘urban refuge‘ concept in 2008, starting with its first, in Paris’ off-beat 20th district. ‘Mama’ quickly became synonymous with generosity, nurturing hospitality and just a sprinkling of cheekiness. Since then, she has extended her embrace across three continents, nine countries and fourteen cities, with more openings in the pipeline.

The Trigano’s family legacy

A passion for hospitality is the beating heart of Mama. Serge, whose father co-founded iconic Club Med, cut his teeth in the family business before branching out. In 2008, he joined forces with his sons and together they brought Mama to life, inspired by the idea of creating a different type of hotel that combined urban design, affordability and a touch of new-wave glamour.

Mama’s core values

Mama offers a safe haven in a selection of exciting cities and districts, from Belgrade to Bordeaux, Rome to Lisbon. Each reflects its unique setting while serving up the comfort factor you’d expect of this fun-loving family: dynamic spaces in which to relax, work, eat, meet and greet. And Mama’s values never slip: 5* luxury bedding, organic solid amenities, thoughtfully prepared homemade food and free movies, including X-rated, are standard.

Collaboration in the heart of creativity

Since Mama first opened her doors, creative collaboration has been key. Serge, Jérémie and Benjamin have worked with renowned designers, from Dion & Arles to Thierry Gaugain, plus chefs including Jean-Edern Hurstel in the Luxembourg Shelter.

Today, the family’s own design studio is behind a host of Mama’s unusual interiors, from graffiti-laden ceilings and plush sofas to avant-garde lighting. And now that unique style can also be taken home, thanks to Mama’s chic shop offering, in collaboration with her favourite cool creatives.
