As the cannabis industry continues to evolve, dabbing has emerged as a popular consumption method, offering users a refined and potent experience. Dr. Dabber, a technology-driven vaporizer company at the forefront of this movement, has been crafting high-quality products since 2013. Known for their innovative approach and commitment to customer satisfaction, Dr. Dabber has reshaped the vaporizer market with award-winning products that prioritize quality, functionality, and user experience.

In this interview, we sit down with Daniel Marshall of Dr. Dabber to discuss the changing trends in dabbing and their predictions for the future. We explore the reasons behind the rising popularity of dabbing, its potential for growth, and the impact of technology on its effectiveness and accessibility. Dr. Dabber shares insights on their target audience, the hurdles dabbing culture still faces, and how they aim to reshape perceptions around cannabis consumption.

So, let’s examine the advancements and future prospects of dabbing with one of the industry’s leading innovators.

1 – Why do you think dabbing has become so much more popular over the last decade compared to smoking regular buds?

The Dab trend can be attributed to people becoming more health-conscious about their consumption methods, opting for options that offer non-combustion, minimal lingering odor, and a satisfying effect. Cannabis consumption is evolving into a “fine wine realm.” Users can now identify and shop based on unique terpene profiles, cultivars, and types of extraction, allowing them to achieve consistent experiences and tailor their usage to their personal preferences.

2 – Do you think dabbing is at its peak or do you think it still has room to grow and become even more popular?

There is still plenty of room for dabbing to grow; we are only at the beginning. As consumption methods become easier and more accessible, users will naturally gravitate towards dabbing. The role of technology in this evolution is crucial. As users become more educated on methods of consumption and extraction materials, they will seek the cleanest options for their personal use. We are removing the negative stigma associated with dabbing through the introduction of high-quality consumer electronics here at Dr. Dabber. These are statement pieces that the user is proud to have on display and talk about, further fueling the growth of dabbing.

3 – Who is the target audience who mostly smokes through dabbing, and do you think it’s something you grow out of?

Our target audience is the middle 20s—late 30s, and we are seeing an increase in the over-40s crowd. Dabbing will help users evolve into connoisseurs through a simple, clean, and efficient operation. Ultimately becoming a more educated consumer who graduates into more premium concentrates and higher quality consumption tech.

4 – How does technology impact the effectiveness and the approachability of dabbing?

Technology will help the approachability of dabbing as it offers users an experience with just a button push. There is no guesswork, no over/under-temped dabs, and always a consistent experience. Part of the reason you find cannabis users hesitant to smoke concentrates is due to having a bad experience in the past (i.e. too hot). We offer an experience that is simple, clean and efficient with our devices.

Comfortable to use with any level of experience and able to deliver smooth, flavorful hits for beginners and dense hits for the advanced users.

5 – What is the major hurdles dab culture still has to work through to gain mass-market appeal?

Dab culture will gain mainstream adoption once we see the perception of Cannabis shift across the board. We are still seeing people associate Dabbing/Cannabis use to being lazy and unproductive, etc. We have come to learn that this is far from the truth and have many successful individuals who use cannabis daily. Once people are more educated on Dabbing, they can shop for an experience that suits their needs.

6 – Any hot takes about dabbing culture from an insider’s perspective?

Some users will consume just about anything, unaware of its origin, production methods, etc. I dont think most users are familiar with cured vs live, resin vs rosin, color remediation tech, etc. Resulting in an inconsistent market, instead of educating users why they might benefit from a high quality product, it’s often easier to sell a cheaper product that pales in comparison to premium hash rosin or jar of properly cured full melt.

If everyone knew the beauty premium products, this would push cultivation/extraction into the next level of quality almost overnight. People become educated and watch how the hash market will become more refined.
